Quick card with a sketch

I had a great night hanging with some art group friends,
and came home inspired to make something!
So as it stormed outside, I set a timer, and banged out this fun card in 9:35!
I started with the colors for the new 10 minute craft dash,
background paper looks much more yellow here, but it's really an orange color in person!
Then I added the sketch at timeless twine, and voila, a quick card encompassing two challenges!

A fun little card for a rainy night!

Cooking with power tools

My hours have been a little chaotic as of late,
So hubby has been doing a lot more cooking!
He's generally a pretty good cook.
One night a few weeks ago I suggested breakfast for dinner!
Little did I know this is what would ensue!
Ahhh that's right my husband cooks with his drill!

I was going to smash these pictures, but decided instead to do a full page layout!

Hold on to:

I've been trying to get some crafty time in in the mornings before I head off to work.
This morning I had every intention of making an ATC, but it was gonna be something sorta
back to schoolish!
It's pretty obvious this isn't that!
My ATC ended up girly and sweet!
I did heat emboss the inspirational saying,
And I made the background myself!
Hope you like it!

Back to school post it

Good morning!
It's wet and rainy here in Phoenix!
And likely to stay that way for the next few days!
Not so good for my work outs, but very good for my crafting!
This morning I made this quick post it note holder!
Hubby stole my last one,
So I made this one girly to hopefully keep him from thieving another one!
There are lots of back to school challenges this week,
I'm not in school, and don't have any kids,
But I definitely think this project could qualify!
It would be perfect for a teacher gift, or for your high schooler!
Here's a close up of the tiddly inks image I used
I am certainly loving this stamp!

DIY Breakfast Burro's

OMG I've been a real bad blogger this week!!
This new schedule is real WONKY!
Plus now I'll be changing schedule again in another week!
Soooo since I'm now working a dayshift schedule, I have been a very bad girl
I stop at McDonalds almost every morning for a breakfast burrito.
At $1 a pop, they are actually pretty affordable,
but I do feel much more comfortable knowing what's in my burro!
So yesterday I decided to make my own!
I started with a pack of tortillas and added some shredded cheese that I had in the fridge.
I then drained a can of black beans, and added that on top of the cheese and tortilla's
I then fried up some bulk sausage that I got on sale at Sprouts
and yep, you guessed it, I added that to the cheese and beans
Finally I scrambled up 9 eggs, and added that to the mixture!
Then I wrapped those bad boys up 2 to a ziplock, and popped them in the freezer!
This morning I had the first two, and they were yummy!
Only thing I would do different is I will be using american slices in the future,
and I will make 10 instead of 8 burro's!
I might even add some spinach on the next go round as well!

All I can say is it was perfect after about 2 hours of work to just pop that zip lock in the micro for 2 minutes and bam! breakfast baby!!

Make everyday magic

It's a new week at Anything but a card
The new challenge is fairies or fairy tales
And I wanted to play in my art journal a little!
What do you think of this monochromatic ness?
No, that's probably not really a word, but I'm goin with it anyways!
Here's a close up!
The image is a clear stamp from some odd girl stamps,
And perfect for the fairy or fairy tale challenge!
I think she's super cute, and I love the sentiment.

Come play along with us this next two weeks!

Tombstone

I've had this collage picture hanging out on my desk for a while, but wasn't really
sure what to do with it!
Sometimes the right sketch just needs to come along!
I found that sketch over at page maps for their ruby rock it layout challenge!

Here's my tombstone layout!
Lots of little fun pieces added in there!

I even used an old piece of trim wrapping!
And I made that corset looking thing with some trim and papers that I had hanging out!
This semi buying ban is good for my creativity!

Daddys girl

I did this full page layout this afternoon.
I wanted to pull in some of the elements that we had from our wedding.
So I used the feather, and the buttons.
Both are now in my stash as leftovers from the big day!
I found the sketch at a new to me blog called scrap around the world
It's actually a sketch and an inspiration board!
Hop on over and check out some serious fabulousness!

Ok, now onto some close ups....
Yep, that bad boy was in my hair for almost the whole night, and yes, I made that myself!
I love the flowers, and I got to play with some of my distress paints!
I think I need some more practice, but it's not bad for my first time on metal.

Here's the sketch and inspiration I used!

Hope your having a crafty week!

Two of a kind

Good morning!
So yesterday I shared part of the creation on the left.
After I photographed it, I decided to make another girl,
And I put them both into my art journal!
Here's a close up of girl #2
I used the color inspiration from shopping our stash.
The paper, and many other products have been in my stash for a while,

I hope you enjoy!

New stamps, old products

Happy Tuesday!
Ahhhh after a long and relatively stressful week at work,
I'm finally off, and getting to play with some new stamps
Which I of course paired with some rather old paper that's been in my stash for, well, a long long time!

The prima doll stamp came from oozak.com
Where I was a guest designer last month.
Let me tell you this stamp is super easy and fun to create with!

I have a little confession.
I sat down to make a birthday card for my nephew.
He's turning 13 this Friday.
But this stamp was beckoning!

I'm linking up with these challenges:

Love to create: color challenge (see above)
Bearly mine: anything goes
Use it Tuesday: unlinked stamp (prima stamp, and 2 of the word stamps)

Sometimes I sit down to create thinking I'm going to make a certain item...
And something completely different emerges!
Kinda like how god guides my life right now!
I sat down to make a birthday card for my dad..
But this emerged instead...
A fun little ATC!

Wanna play Bingo?

I was recently asked to join another design team!
I am super stoked to be designing for the challenge blog Fussy and Fancy Friday.
This is a weekly challenge where pretty much anything goes!
How fun???
With my new work schedule I now have a stretch of days off in the middle of the week,
and I've gotten to hang with the Sensational Scrappers of the West Valley
much more often than I did previously!
Once a month we have a Smash/Art Journal meet up, where we all share our smash books or art journals!
So I had to do something new in my smash book!
Lucky for me there is a bingo challenge over at Fussy and Fancy,
so I created this page in my smashbook!
I used some fun papers, some dylusions ink, and some miscellaneous product I had hanging
around the craft desk!

See how that looks like a doily??
yep, it's actually ink sprayed over a doily!
Which is fab, cause now I have this sprayed "doily" and I now also have a yellow
doily that I can use for a future project!
