Bird crazy for fathers day

I've been a busy little bee.
Yep, making Fathers Day Cards for all my peeps at work.
I pulled out my "Bird Crazy" stamps and my distress watercolor paper,
and I went to work.

Stamping and then coloring with my watercolor pencils, then using the water brush
to make the lines blend!
The I masked off the birdie, and stamped the
happy happy happy happy happy in the background!
I finished it all off with a bit of "grass"
and the happy fathers day sentiment.
That little bit is popped up on pop dots, and it's all mounted on a card.
Easy peasy!
I love how quizical this guy looks
with his one big eye and his one small
And this little fella looks like he could be scared.
Maybe of his kids??

I hope you are getting some crafty time, and that you have a fun fathers day to look forward to.

Using whats on my desk

I like challenges!
Yep, you know I do!
Many times I turn to other blogs for my challenge.
Today I relied on myself.
You see, I was getting cluttered on my desk, so I thought I should
Go ahead and clean it off.
Then it dawned on me......
How about I challenge myself to use ONLY what is on my desk to create an art journal page.
Here's the end result, and how I got there!
First some inspiration:
I just love all the fun colors!

This is all the "stuff" on my desk!
Thank god for some paints!
Oh, and is that a box ofgelatos I spy?
I found this page in my journal already,
Out takes from previous pages.
(I can't just waste all that yumminess!)
I layered on gelatos,
And bits and bobs leftover from a recent Dina Wakley class!
Oh, and I was so excited to find my dylusions stamps on the desk
Cause well, cause they made a fine border!
Here's a close up of the finished girl with a bit of journaling around her.
And that lovely orange (oh gelatos how I love you!) on the other side!
I added a bit of white to my stamped border.
I don't know about you all, but I had a LOT of fun creating this page,
And will now be cleaning up my desk!
