Ok, so it's currenly 7:20 pm, and while I was successful in being creative today,
I was extremely sidetracked by a fabulous blog that I happened upon!!!
So while I should have been putting up this blog post, I was instead
cleaning up the drool off my desk from all the lovelies...
so I will share the link and hope all of you out there in blogland have already happened across
this amazing blog and have tried some of her fab work!!!
OK, so now that I've pulled myself away for long enough to write this here is (some of) what I've
been up to today!
Believe me I KNOW it's still 100 degrees out, and not even close to feeling like Christmas,
but if I don't get these things working now well then NO one will get a
Christmas card!
So a while back I picked up this Sizzix candy cane die cut for a measly 1.50 (I KNOW!!!)
and I hadn't broken it out as I was still playing with so many other fun finds
But today it was Christmas Creation day again!
I wanted to keep it pretty simple, so I started with a base card that has the polka dots
and added a few strips of washi tape.
Then I cut out the candy cane using my Big Kick and some scrap red/maroon paper.
You can't see it, but on the candy cane it puts these perforations where the stripes should be..
I didn't kow what to do with them, so I used my white gel pen and scribbled in the white parts
There is by the way a perfectly perfect red bow that came out with the red candy cane, but that was too much red for me,
so I cut out a green bow added some white accents, and some glitter in the middle, and voila,
A candy cane with a bow!
Then for the Merry Christmas on the other side of the card I had cut up some
Tim Holtz Christmas paper a while back (you'll see more of this I'm sure!)
I pulled out the sewing machine and added some red stitching along the edges
I added a little distressing to the edges, and stuck it down!!
Pretty quick and easy right?? I wonder if I can make a candy cane chain using this die??
I'll have to play around with that one!!
I want to enter this into the brand new challenge over at
Cut it up!
and I feel it's only right to support their inagural challenge!
Hope you have plans for a fab weekend!!!
I'm going back to my blog hopping and drooling...
Craft if up!
