Create freedom

 Happy Patriots Day!
For those of you that aren't from the US,
Today is the 12th anniversary of the terrorist bombing of the twin towers in New York City.
Like most in my age bracket and higher, I remember exactly where I was when I heard,
and I also remember almost everything I did for the rest of the day after!
Sadly I also remember the effects that day has had on myself, and on those I love!

Fitting for today I created a red white and blue layout!
My 19 year old nephew posted this picture on facebook a few weeks back,
and I snagged it up, and scrapped it!
He's an artist inside, I just know it!
Here's a close up of the picture, and the fabulous embellies all around it!
Way cool??
I love that I got to use that FREEDOM stamp that I got from Unity Stamps too!

Also, I used up a little bit of my sequin and button stash.
I know it's not a huge stash, but do you know how long those sequins can last??

I'm totally in love with this layout!  I hope you are too??

Linking up with:
A blog named here: Button it
Sweet Stamp Shop: use what you have #16
Oozak: anything Goes with punches or dies (some of those stars are punches, and the edging on the strip of red was made with a punch as well!)
Simon Says Monday: Embossed
Simon Says Wednesday: Emboss it
And I found the sketch at scrapbook supplies online: sketch

  1. Diana I too remember the exact moment that 9/11 happened. I was very ill and confined to bed. There was a TV in there and I was drifting in and out of sleep. When the reports began I thought a different movie was playing.
Of course as the horror unfolded it became something very different and my Aussie family sat me with tears streaming down our faces as I am sure millions of people around the world did.
Life as we all know it was changed forever through the entire world.
Your layout is wonderful and how good to use your nephews art.I'm sure as you worked on this memories and feeling swirled around you.

  7. What a wonderful picture and amazing layout! So patriotic. You are so right about the stash of sequins...even a little jar can last for years, it seems! Great way to "Use What You Have" for the Sweet Stamp Shop's challenge!
