Just some lines

 It's Saturday again already!!!
Don't you just love this fabulous new digi from Just Some Lines??
The challenge is still up to use 3 embellishments,
This week I've used 3 different types of embelishments.
Buttons, Flower, and Ribbon.
On top of that I made this fun little card in 9:47.
Yep, it's that time again, the 10 minute craft dash is upon us again!
I will confess that I had already colored up my image a few weeks ago, and was just waiting
to make this cute card!
The papers are from Crate Paper's Party Days line (I'm in love with this companies papers, and literally stalk them whenever I'm out and about!!)
The buttons are of course from my stash, and the flower I assembled myself!
The little strips of ribbon are from an estate sale find back in April!
I hope you enjoy this little gem, and also that you'll play along at Just Some Lines!

Octopode card

It's hard to believe that I've made so many cards this week!
After finishing this one I said to myself...
I gotta play in my journal!
So here she is...
the image is from Ocotopode, I colored her up weeks (maybe months) ago!
then I die cut her out and distressed along the edges.
All the papers I used were from my crap pile
(well except for the music book one)
But I ripped that out of the music book, and it's my card base!
I colored up the music washi tape with my distress stain (peeled paint)
added the flowers, and
then I punched out a couple of flowers along the top of the card,
and I made some paper for the new Hi stamp that I got from Unity Stamps
and I punched that out too!
Then added glossy accents to the top.
wanna see a close up??
Pretty huh??
Ok, so hopefully something other than cards for tomorrow!!
(Oh wait, I will have another birthday card for my sister to post!)
Then no more cards!!!!

For me?

Perhaps like many of you out there,
you make many craft projects, for your friends, for your family, often
even for complete strangers.
I know for me I very rarely make something for myself!
Today however I have a project that I made completely for ME!

See the problem is that I always needs a plethera of pens for my job.
I have a little locker at work, and the pens seem to just get thrown on the edge of the locker, and then of course they get lost!
So I decided to make the fun tin for all my little work items!

Here's the before picture
Yep, it's a large size Planters Roasted Almonds tin.

I covered it with some pretty papers from Heidi Grace.
And then I made the banners, I also used the Heidi Grace papers,
and I printed out the letters on my printer, and punched them out with a circle punch
then added them to the banners, punched holes for the twine, and voila, a banner.
Really that part was super easy!
Next I colored up this "color me wonderful" image from Saturated Canary

Here's her close up!  I am in love with her yellow dress
after all, yellow is my favorite color!
And it's a perfect springy color!
Finally at the bottom of the can I added a few stripes of twine from the twinery

Happy birthday April!

Last night while perusing some of my favorite blogs I came across a new (to me) digi stamp
company called The Ocotpode Factory, you can find
these fabulous stamps here.
I was so inspired that I snatched up a couple and got to playing!
I am entering this fun birthday card into their challenge
which is "Words" you can find that challenge here
I am also super excited about the Hard Core Crop that's being sponsored by co'ordinations
you can find all the Crop challenges here.
This card is being entered in the Recipe challenge being hosted by Andrea
her recipe is akin to chocolate chips cookies,
(from her posting)
BROWN SUGAR - Page must contain some type of Core'dinations Kraft or Kraft Core (Tim Holtz collection) cardstock, OR you may use any color of Brown Core'dinations cardstock that you may have on hand!   (I used the kraft core)SUGAR - Page must contain some type of Glitter, Embossing powder or Bling.  (I embossed the sentiment, and I then sprayed it with sparkly mist!)
CHOCOLATE CHIPS - Page must contain Polka Dot embossing, (either Tillie or Jillian Spotted Core or Core cardstock that is embossed with a dotted folder).  (I embossed a scrap piece of core paper and then I distressed it!)
CHOPPED WALNUTS - Page must contain some "distressing technique".  (well it didn't show up very well, but I distressed the edges of the kraft paper, and I also added distressing to the raised embossing on the heart and the polk a dots!)

Here is my close up of this fabulous digi!
I wanna send a shout out to my good friend April, it's her birthday!
And this fun creation is for her!

31 days of Halloween: Day 3

I've made it to day 3!! I know that doesn't sound like much of an accomplishment,
But for me it is!
Today I'm sharing another Pinterest inspired creation!
This was a can of beans! Yes it was!
But any tin can will work!
So go eat a can of soup and come back!

This guy was super easy and fun to make!

Paint your can green!
Cut a little piece of felt for the hair (I happened to have some with a swirly design)
Attach the nose. Do this first, or his face may come out lopsided
Then the eyes, and then grab your sharpie it draw on the mouth and some extras
Finally add a little pink on his cheeks (I just used some distress inks)
And finally the ears!!
There is of course a story behind the ears!
I had some pretty orange earplugs all picked out and sitting on my craft table....
I walked away.... When I came back they were missing!
I was able to find one, but the kitty isn't giving up the other, so lucky me I
Found this yellow pair in the nightstand.... There was no sitting around, I hot
Glued those bad boys right on!
Hope your enjoying the Halloween posts!

Cow's it Going??

Lucky me, I had some time to create today!
I LOVE playing along with challenges
And I love to try to fit as many challenges into one project as possible
I KNOW you probably already know that if you follow my blog at all.....
Soooo today I made this cute card!

I have wanted to try paper piecing for a while now, and this is sort of using that technique
if you look close at the boy cow's overalls you can see that is actually a piece
of old jeans I have in my craft room that I use for scraps!
There, that's a better view...
and see the cute sentiment??  Cow's it going??  like I told hubby, thats Punny...
Oh goodness, I must of had too much caffiene today!
First this cute cow pair is a stamp from la la land crafts I colored them up
using my copic and prismacolor markers
I added stitching to the denim paper behind the cute pair and backed with the
fun polk a dot paper!

Then I added the butterfly which is a stamp from Denami designs
and the buttons seemed to round out the bottom, I then slapped on a quickie flower and
voila!!!!  The background paper is kraft resist from my boyfriend Tim Holtz
so you ask how many challenges can I fit onto one page???
