Smashing with la la

I've had some coloring time lately!
It's relaxing to watch an image come to life
I recently got some fun new rub-bah from la la land crafts
I stamped them using my distress inks, (black soot) and then colored them using my
copic and prismacolor marker.
Of course I had to smash them into my blue smash* book
Here's a close up of the witch
Isn't she lovely?
and the Pirate
These images were very easy to color, and even funner to smash!
I added some details with washi tape at the bottom of the page, and the pretty butterfly in the center of the page!
I've been working on my layering, I think it's finally starting to come along!

Here's one more pic of the whole page..
Hope you're having a smashing Tuesday!

Orange and Pink.... Pink and Orange

I love this little card I whipped together today!

The image is from Dilly beans designers
(I ordered another image, but haven't gotten it yet!  I'm super excited to color up that digi for sure!)
The butterfly is a denami design rubber stamp
The twine from the twinery
The button from my stash, the sentiment from my old school dymo, the paper is new from Hobby Lobby

I love her... and I miss her... the card is for my sister Tanya who will
periodically send me text messages saying
"oh oh oh, I miss aunt Di"  I can only assume they are supposed to be
from my nephew... who's 3 :) Miss you too sis!

Fairy nice with a tag

I couldn't resist coloring up this cutie!

She is of course a Saturated Canary digi from the super talented Krista Smith
I colored her with my pinks, and added some distressing on the edges...

A couple of rhinestones and a flower punch to the side,
And then the little tag with a sweet sentiment on the bottom.
I love the little tag!
Tied up with just a little bit of twine, and popped up with some foam squares!

Inspiration Monday

Last week my brother in law was in town, and we went to dinner at a local zoo...
this was our dinner guest!
Maybe not usually the best dinner date, but he was fun to watch,
and he didn't eat anything that didn't belong to him
(probably because he was behind glass!)

I know on the surface it's not much for Inspiration Monday,
but this is one of the rarest of animals (they don't survive in the wild)
I think it's amazing how many different species God created,
we take so very many of them for granted!
So be inspired by the unexpected!

simple card

Just a quick card I made the other day...
I wanted to try coloring this new SC digi,
and while I'm not super happy with the coloring, I think the card is cute and simple!

Plus I tied the bow myself... (I'm very proud of this bow!)

It's little and dainty, and has a tiny rhinestone in the middle!

Black and White + 1

The challenge over at saturated canary challenge is to use black and white plus one other color
I was super excited to color up Krista's newest freebie
I even bought a new copic marker for the occassion.
Here she is in her close up!

I colored her using mostly copic markers, and for the black polka dots and black stripes
I used enamel accents
And the whole card.

I'm also entering this card into some other challenges, there is texture on the cutout of the digi stamp, and the buttons were just too much to turn down.  The patterned paper has been in my stash for a while
you could say I've been hoarding it I guess.
and the fun little sentiment is from a new pack of clear stamps I picked up at Joann's this week
I added the eyelets to the side of the sweet sentiment, and ran a strip of washi tape behind that.
Finally, I had to... HAD TO make an envelope to go with (mostly cause the card turned out to be an odd size)
I think they look like a fine pair!
Hope you enjoy my creation

Redneck Cupcakes

Today I got a fun surprise...
It's a redneck cupcake!
My newest work pal AJ  is trying out some recipes for
her (hopefully) upcoming
wedding.  She's so much fun and we are always talking crafts at work!
Yep, that's a mason jar... and yep, that's a bottle cap!

On top she stamped this cute little sentiment

MMMM yummy frosting!
And.....
A close up of the bottle cap.. with my name and a smily face....
Super super super cute!  I can't wait to eat the yummy cake!

More Angie fun

I had so much fun creating the second side to
my smash book page.
I love her fun digi's
This page has the typewriter... colored a pretty teal (like mine in real life!)
and the Angel love digi from Angie's shop...
I fell in love with the typewriter quite a few weeks ago, but didn't get around
to purchasing it from her shop till a few days ago
Let me tell you that it is super fun to color!  And I even
added the words using my vintage teal typewriter!

I'm super in love!
Off to the side is a quick pic of hubby with his doggin Elway!

I LOVE this pic of them, and will probably end up displaying it somewhere else
in my smashbooks... (so beware!)
Finally I added the "Angel Love" to the (sorta) center

She's popped up with some foam dots, and is sitting on a Spellbinders die cut

If you're looking for a fun digi to color this Angie Delarie is a great one... Lots of little nooks and crannies to get your copic (or other marker) into!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend!  Remember to go Smash something today!

Angie Delarie digi fun

I recently found a new fun digi distributor
This is the smash page I came up with

you can find these super fun and cool digi's at angie delaire products
Here's a few close ups

This is teacher says... I added a little superman symbol on her cape!  After all what teacher isn't a superstar?
And this little lovely is Arcadia Bear Lover
I used my copi markers to color them both
red, Gray, Black and Teal!
I added the glittery star and the clock with a stamp from
Who isn't a glitter addict?

At the bottom of the page I added a ruffled piece of lace that I spritzed with water
and then inked up using my distress inks.
On the side I added a piece of washi tape that I also distressed blue
(because I only have teal tape, not blue!)
I added the little journaling lines for adding some text later on!

Hope you enjoyed my little smash page, and go check out all the fun digi's that Angie has in her shop!

Crock pot breakfast

We had a potluck on the 4th of July at my work..
Since I have to be at work at 5:45 am, I though I'd do some breakfast before the lunch smorgasboard!
When I opened up my fridge the night before I found a dozen and a half eggs that were on their last day or two!
This is what I came up with:
1 1/2 dozen eggs
1 cup or so of milk
1 lb bacon cooked and chopped
1 large bag of frozen hash browns
6 slices american cheese
1/2 lb grated cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste

cook the bacon (I like to cut it up using my kitchen sheers prior to putting it in the pan)
Scramble the eggs, and add the milk... set this aside for now
Grease the sides of your crock pot, add half the has browns and cover with cheese
Then top the cheese with the bacon... mmmmm bacon...

Then pour the egg mixture over the top, and cover with the remaining hash browns...
The top all of that with the cheddar cheese!  Salt and pepper to taste...
Set it on low for 6-10 hours
MMMMM it's a hit!
We did decide after eating almost the whole pot that this base recipe would be great with lots of other things... peppers, onions, mushrooms, salsa, green chilis, ect ect ect   pretty much the list goes on and on!  What did you have for breakfast today?

Sweet and simple card

Ok, so this is the last of the card bunch this week!!
I promise some smash*ing stuff the rest of the week!!!
A sweet and simple butterfly card!  Some stamping, some twine, and a little bit of washi tape on the envelope!
All these cards were fun to create, and my girlfriend at work seems to love them!
Taking orders from the public any time!
Have a blessed day

Inspiration Monday

I know it's been a few weeks.... but Inspiration Monday is back...
Yep, that's it!  A beautiful sunrise on my way to work!
Thank God for this daily promise!

The animal inside

Continuing with the card theme of the weekend, I created this
Birthday card for my friend to give to her
mother in law.
She asked for the card to include leopard print....
I got to use some foam stamps that have been sitting in my stash for quite a while!
All the papers were made using the stamps, and then embossing with clear emboss, and then inked up
using my distress inks (tea dye and vintage photo)
I added the gold gear cut from Tim Holtz big dies "gears"
Made a little banner of animal print ribbon tape, and added embelishments of rhinestones
and pearls!
The Happy Birthday was made using my dymo label maker, and the sentiment
is a stamp!  I love how it turned out sort of girlie, but still primative!
Hope you enjoy this little post!

Ok, so like I said, I'm on a card binge!
This is for the chocolate coffee cards facebook fans only challenge
It's a sketch with a twist.
The twist was to used red, so what's better than a red heart?
Here's a close up!

All that glitters and shines

I'm working on cards this week!
One of my peeps at work asked me to make her some cards...
What's a better way to get better at something I feel I struggle at??
This is a Saturated Canary digi from the super talented Krista Smith
This week over at the saturated canary challenge blog the theme is bling!
So I brought it!
This is "circus trixie" and I colored her using my copics and prismacolor alcohol based markers.
I added some glossy accents to the bow around her tummy, glitter to her hair, and the red along the outside of the spellbinders die cut is painted using red glitter paint.
I added rhinestones along the blue star paper on the side, and red glitter glue to the star in the corner.
I also added stitching to the sides, and the red ric rac (say that 4 times fast!) to the bottom... Finally I finished it off with a button strung with twine on the side!
I certainly hope my friend loves this card!

Sweet butterfly card

One of the ladies at work just had twins... yes, TWINS!!!
I made this cute little card for her
The two butterflies are for her two lovely babies... and since they are a boy and girl, I thought it
only right to make them green. I added a strip of washi tape and a strip of green ribbon.
Then stamped the "congratulations"
On the butterflies I used my peeled paint distress ink and painted in the wings and
them covered the in clear embossing powder and hit them with some heat!
A little close up of the butterflies (stamps I won from denami designs)
I'm entering this card into the krafty girls color splash challenge.
This is a great challenge this week, black and white with a splash of color of your choice!

Pinwheels for the 4th

I missed the fireworks show last night, but hope to make it tonight...
Please Please Please remember that the 4th of July is the day that the most pets get lost,
so make sure your animals are safe at home before you head out for the show!
Ok, so here are the much anticipated pinwheels!
We strung them up around our supervisor's desk!
You can find the tutorial here
They honestly were super easy to make!
What fun 4th of July project did you do?
Please be safe and sound this holiday, and thank a service person for all they have done for our country!

Stars and Stripes

Quickie 4th of July Project!
My supervisor at work LOVES to decorate for any holiday!  So she ran to Michaels on her lunch break yesterday, and brought back these fun stars!
This morning she handed them out to everyone and said "create!"
So create I did!
This is the front and back or back and front of my star
I used my ranger inks with punchinella and then made some stars punched out of cardboard painted gold...
The inked dots are outlined in red glitter glue!

Then on the other side I drew lines using my copics and other markers, and a little bit of glitter glue, and a bunch of imagination!

It was super fun to have craft day at work!
Tomorrow I'll be featuring a pinwheel garland! (or maybe even later today if I can't wait to post it!)
Happy Independence day!  Thank a service person for all they've done for this great country today and every day!
