Smashing again

It's been a while since I shred a smash page!
This morning I got up with hubby and while I was enjoying a cuppa joe
I wrote out my challenge list!
The new job is going fabulous, and I need some stress relief!
I made this Christmas inspired smash page, probably cause I wish it was winter time
(it's a fabulous time in Phoenix!)
and cause there seem to be a lot of Christmas in July themes going around!
A few weeks ago I found this cool book at the goodwill,
it's a cookbook of sorts, and it's from the late 1800's and is out of Virginia..
Don't worry, it's a reprint, but I thought it was perfect for this little smash page!
The image is from The Ocotopode Factory,
and I added some glittery embossing to her dress and ear muffs
Here's her close up
She was fun and pretty easy to color!

Winter birthday!

Ahhhh are all your stockings hung?? I guess the real question is are they filled??
As in did you get all your Christmas shopping done??
I still have at least one present to buy, and a little bit of wrapping to do!
But I had enough time to throw together this cute card!
My girlfriend in Florida's birthday is at the very beginning of January,
and I though I've gotta do something that has no hit of the holidays.
I'm hoping I succeeded??
The image is of course from Saturated Canary, and I colored her up using a mix of
Copic, Prismacolor, and Spectrum Noir markers.
I also used the markers to color up those cute cupcakes!
Here's her close up!

That paper behind her is really more gray, but appears pink in this pic!

Sweet nothing's thank you

Good evening all my bloggy friends!
Today I was busy in the craft room all day long!
I worked on some DT stuff, but also some stuff I can share with you right now!
I got this free digi from Sweet Nothings Stamp Co
So I have decided to play along with their challenge which is to
use this picture for inspiration

So I got to work making a neutral card!

I added the paint spatters on the background paper as I'd like to play along with the challenge at designed to color and can I just say that man did it feel like it took a long time for those paint spatters to dry!
As they were drying I cut out the digi and backed it with some old sheet music

Here's her close up!

The lace was hand dyed and hung to dry,
I then went to work arranging some buttons on the corners of the card
And I added the numbers and the "thanks"

which was backed with some of the wood looking paper that I had left over

All in all a cute and girly card ready for when I need a thank you on the fly!

Fall is in the air???

I am so excited to share today's creation with you
First because I got to use a brand new die cut, and second because
It just turned out fabulous!

Soooooo, first of all I have been playing along with Designed to Color
To celebrate their 1000th Facebook fan
Their challenge is a scavenger hunt to find a recipe for a creation..
I Love scavenger hunts... I even had one for my 17th birthday!
So I found all the items I needed to use: a colored image, at least 2 patterned papers,
Bling, twine, and some doodling.

Here's what I came up with!

Yep, it's a picture frame!
Yesterday was half price day at the Goodwill, so I got this frame for 75 cents!
Can you see all my elements?
Why fall you say, since its105 degrees out STILL?
Well cause that's the challenge over at Dilly beans! One of my favorite
challenges! I just love the images Megan puts out!
Here's a close up.... And my doodling element is in the stripes in the background

So we've got the colored image, the doodling, and the patterned papers (with the leaves!)
Now we need some bling and twine!

I covered these grunge paper letters with gold glitter (hubby's suggestion) and then sealed them in
with some glossy accents.... And did you notice that I sewed the center of all the leaves??
I LOVE this tattered leaves die that I picked up on clearance at Michaels!
And all of this was inspired by the challenge at Cut it Up Challenges which is
to create something from their fall inspired pictured, and of course to use something die cut!

Just a quick reminder that a project like this would be perfect over at
Anything but a Card where the challenge is to use texture!

So a recap, this pretty frame is being entered into the challenges at:

Another Christmas Card

It's one of those very rare days...
Where it's overcast and less than 115 degrees in Phoenix in the summer!
What should a girl do on an overcast day like this??
Why make a Christmas Card of course!
I used a pretty digi from dilly beans shop
I colored this fun snowlady with my copic, I tore and distressed the plain white paper behind her,
I then embossed another plain piece of white paper, and then
distressed with my distress inks and threw some embossing powder on those dots! Used
some fabric cut outs and a strip of snowflake ribbon for the house and tree,
And finished off the card with a few strips of washi tape
(the card was too big, so i thought it would add a little to the card!
Here is miss snow's close up!
I am entering this pretty lady these challenges:
Chocolate, coffee, and cards: emboss
Desert Islands Challenge: Blue, Wet, Sparkle, no patterned paper, embossing (pick 3) ok I went overboard

Smashing with la la

I've had some coloring time lately!
It's relaxing to watch an image come to life
I recently got some fun new rub-bah from la la land crafts
I stamped them using my distress inks, (black soot) and then colored them using my
copic and prismacolor marker.
Of course I had to smash them into my blue smash* book
Here's a close up of the witch
Isn't she lovely?
and the Pirate
These images were very easy to color, and even funner to smash!
I added some details with washi tape at the bottom of the page, and the pretty butterfly in the center of the page!
I've been working on my layering, I think it's finally starting to come along!

Here's one more pic of the whole page..
Hope you're having a smashing Tuesday!
