Blooming

I'm on a little bit of an art journal roll!
Have you had a chance to play along with the art journal challenge over at Anything But a Card?
It's sponsored by me, and it's been great fun getting to see all the fab art journal creations!
Today I have another page and I got the prompt from Smeared and Smudged
the prompt for today day 4 is GROWTH
So I got inky, and flowery, and made this really fun page!
Here you can see how I popped up a number of the flowers!
Are you getting creative today?
Are you sharing it with us?
Ahhh I can feel the stress leaving my body when I get some ink on my fingers!

Abac spotlight

Did you come by way of the Anything But a Card Challenge?
I hope so!
I'm sharing this art journal page with you all today!

I've been working on some lettering, and especially on using my black and white pens to create letters
I like the effect.
The daisy stamp is from Stampendous, and I'm going to join in with their "new years resolution" challenge, I interpreted this by using my One Little Word "change"
last year my word was "believe" and it really did make a difference for my year!
So this year my word is Change!
I hope you are checking out the Art Journal Challenge at Anything But a Card, and keep on creating!
It's great for the soul!

12 tags of 2014: January

Wow! Two posts in one day?
I had a little bit of crafting time today, and a tag was on the menu!
As in one of Tim Holtz' 12 tags of 2014.
I was superbly happy that I mostly had everything I needed for to play along!
So here is my version....
I did my best to follow along with Tim's instructions, but did have to improvise on some things!
You can find his tutorial here
and here are a few close ups of my work!

Oooooh and I got to use one of my "new to me stamps!"
This should be the moto of my craft room!

Fun in the sun

 Happy Monday!!
I'm here again with another calendar page to share with you!

These pic's were all taken on our honeymoon to Hawaii (3 years ago!)
But they really seemed to fit for the July calendar page!
The background paper is from DCWV, and the striped paper behind the pictures
is from Crate Paper (ohhhhh how I LOVE Crate Paper!)
The stickers were in a pack I bought a while back.
Are you making some crafty time this week?
I hope you're sharing it with someone!

Favorite color combo with just some lines

Happy Weekend!
It's my last weekend off for... well for at least a year!
I'm ok with it though, I actually prefer to be off on weekdays
(I get sooooo much more done!)
Today I have a little altered picture frame to share with you.

I got this in my stocking from Santa for Christmas,
and I knew right away that I was going to alter it!
Then as I was coloring up this fabulous NEW digi from Just Some Lines
I knew it would be perfect for the edge of the frame!
Plus I got the wonderful heart washi from Joann's
(you wanna hear the story about that?)
***off on a tangent!**
So I get this fabulous email from Joann's with a coupon $5 off any purchase of $5!!!
What is that squealing I hear??
yep, me too! So off I go bound and determined to just spend $5.
(We're still on a tight budget!)
I found a cute as pie stamp set for 6.99 plus 40% off, which made it 4.19 how would I spend my remaining  $.81??
So then I stumbled upon a display of washi tape 1.99 plus 40% off!
Sooooo I got the stamp set, and the washi tape for......  $.41
yep, that's right, I'm a bargain shopppppa!
***end of tangent****

If you are looking for a fabulous new digi to add to your collection,
then hop on over to the Just Some Lines Shop
and swoop one up!
And since you're swooping up a new digi, why not come play along with the Favorite Color Combo Challenge that we have going over on the Challenge Blog!

Monochromatic with Fussy and Fancy Friday's

So I picked up this fox stamp a while back
I was hoping to use it to make some Christmas Cards,
but alas, that never panned out!
However, I thought it was perfect to used it to make this
fun "hello" card!
The new challenge at Fussy and Fancy Friday is Monochromatic
So I used as many shades of pink/ red as I could
and then I mounted it all on this cool black and white
polka dot card base!
Ahhhh and off it went to my sister in Florida!
I don't want to say it's a new years resolution, but I'm trying to get cards into
the mail as soon as they are finished!
Then I don't end up with a bunch of cards that never got sent to their recipients
(I've got a whole stack in the craft room, you want one??)

I hope you are getting your crafty on, please check out this new Fussy and Fancy Challenge,

Blue birthday card

So, I had a little sliver of time to play today
It woulda been longer, but I organized my stamps
Which was sorta lucky for me, cause I refound this stamp!
Ahhh I love it! I once used it on a mug,
at Christmas time, but this doesn't have to be just a Christmas stamp right?
By the way, I got it from Unity Stamps, and I'm going to link up to their newest challenge!
The background papers are from Crate Paper,
I just love love love that Happy Birthday paper!
I'll be dropping this in the mail early next week to my brother-in-law,
I did my very best to keep it not girly, and using all blues helped!

A Tuesday ATC

Good afternoon!
I have a fun little ATC to share with you all today.
I got to use a new stamp set for this ATC.
I know you may be saying but Diana, that's not a new set.
Well, it is to me!
I picked this little beauty up on clearance last week, and this was just the perfect opportunity
to break it out of it's little plastic seal.
I used a purple, green and gold color scheme,
as that's the challenge at Wicked Wednesday ATC.
I am getting this little beaut in just under the wire over there,
but the best part is that Jen posts sneak peeks,
so you can check out what the next weeks challenges are!

So if you've never tried an ATC before,
they are super fun, and generally pretty quick to create!

Balance with anything but a card

 Hello blogger friends!
There is a brand new challenge that goes live today at Anything But a Card.
The challenge is BALANCE....

I gotta tell you that I struggled coming up with what to do with this challenge.
I mean how do you translate an action into an art piece?
Can you see what I created?
Yep, I altered a little alarm clock.
I did it in a steampunk style,
I think that a clock is the perfect thing to represent balance.
The precise ways that the mechanism has to work, the trust that we all put in
our clocks everyday keep us in balance as well!
Plus I got to use some of the new product that I snagged at after Christmas sales!
(The cogs, and plaque)
Here is a close up of the little piece of dictionary paper with balance that I added
to the face of the clock, along with the lacy doily, the painted 5,
and the cogs around the 7 and 8.
Finally at the base of the clock I added this plaque.
I hope you'll hop over to the new challenge at Anything But a Card,
get that imagination running, there are endless possibilities.

Jsl fav color combo

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
I have been busy busy busy!
and I haven't had internet at my house for the last few days!
Luckily we're back up and running now!

And just in time for the new Challenge at Just Some Lines
That's right it's the new January Challenge.
Use your Favorite Color Challenge.
My favorite color is yellow, so I started with that
and then I got a little carried away with the yellow,
and pretty much the whole card is yellow...
Oooops.....
Oh well, I guess for me this will just be my favorite color, not combo!
The sentiment is from Little Tangles,
and the background paper was made by moi!
