Day 12:
What do you miss?
(a person, thing, place, time in your life)
What do you miss?
(a person, thing, place, time in your life)
There are a lot actually!
I miss my family the most! My sisters, and my parents, and my brother, not to mention my nephews and nieces! I was so excited when I went to visit in April, I feel like I'm finaly able to have adult like relationships with my oldest niece and nephew, it's amazing to see how they have matured, and turned into adults. Plus I still get to just be Aunt Di to the little ones.
It's extremely hard to be so far away from my parents, I'm luckier than most because I have gotten to see them at least a few times a year since I moved to Arizona, but even prior to that we were all seperated. See, my family has an adventurous streak. That's the only thing I can think of to explain why we, more so than most families, have ended up all over the country! I think it began with a story that my parents used to tell us about how when they were just married they saw a John Denver special on tv and they moved to Colorado. From there we ended up in Idaho, and then full circle my parents moved us back to Florida.
I love to get in the car and just go for a trip! When I was in college I would have 2 days off work and I would jump in the car and drive 8 hours north to see my parents, or 3 hours south to see my sister. Just to have to get back in the car to come back the next day. Do I miss my college years?? Not really, I mean it was fun and all, but I am enjoying the now!
So what do I do about missing my family?? Well rescently I got to see all of them in one fell swoop! But I've also been making and sending them cards for the last few months as well. It's a good outlet for all my creations, and it keeps me in touch with them a little better. Plus sometimes I will skype with them as well!
Remember that I'm joining in the Blog every day in May challenge that can be found here.
John 16:22 - So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
Your family pretty much sounds like mine! Except we are scatted out two continents instead (Europe and Asia)! Myself in Hong Kong, Parents in Indonesia, Sister in London, Brother + family in Sweden. Boy - don't even know where to begin ;)
