Challenge: Day 4

Another day, another challenge!!
I'm diggin these challenges, and if you haven't had a chance to check them out, hop on over here and see what it's all about... and after all, we're only on day 4, so you can still by all means join in.
I'm loving that I'm getting out of my element, and I'm sharing more of who I am!
Ok, so today the challenge is:
Favorite quote (from a person, from a book, ect) and why you love it
Mine is from a book, the best book, it's a verse from the Bible. It's been "my" verse since I was about 16 years old.
Proverbs 4:23  keep your heart with all dilligence, for out of it are the issues of life.

When I was 16 I think it was all about staying true to my beliefs, and who I was becoming as a person. It was about believing in the choices I was making, and making sure that the things I put in my heart were the things I should be believing in. It's so very true to me that if something is in your heart, it is really the most important thing to you.  Over the years, I think maybe this verse has changed in some ways, but it's meaning is still the same.  I think we all have to be very careful what we put in our hearts, whether it's the love of someone else, or the things of the world, it's important to know that old saying "garbage in, garbage out" is really true.
I feel that it's important to reflect on where you are in your life often.  To know what you have in your heart, and where those things are leading you.

  1. Stopping by from the link up! Such a beautiful verse. So short and simple, but so profound all the same. Thanks for the reminder!

  2. Hi Diana, I'm stopping by from the link up too. I appreciate how you've pointed out how quotes dear to us can change over time and how we derive different meanings and interpretations from them as we get older or in different situations. That is so true, and the quote you have chosen to share is beautiful xoxox
